I want to start by saying I am the most un-political person I know. I really don’t know what the difference between Republicans and Democrats is. I am lost when people use terms like right wing, liberals, conservatives…
I’m not proud of that; I’m just being honest.
Although I may (or may not) have voted for Obama, when he was elected, I respected and supported him as our Commander in Chief. I believe he earned that, but today I’m wondering…..
Regardless of what you think about the Kardashians, you must agree they work hard, employ hundreds and hundreds of people, give our government many, many tax dollars and, if you watch their show, you will know that their family is extremely important to them. For these reasons, I really like them.
Last week, in this interview, our President shared his opinion that (and I’m paraphrasing) our youth should not look at the success of people like Kim Kardashian and think they can have similar success. WHAT?!?! What an opposite-of-brilliant thing to say!
Fortunately, Momma Kris Jenner did an excellent job of addressing his remarks, on her daytime talk show. I think she makes her point in a non-confrontational, respectful manner. You can decide for yourself, by watching this five-minute clip.
Just in case Mr. Obama is reading this, (hey, you never know!) I’d like to ask him to never, EVER again imply to our youth or any other American, that they should give up their dream, because it might be too big or too unrealistic. Please don’t suggest we aim lower, sir. Shame on you for encouraging us to be “satisfied” with a good education and a mediocre job. You weren’t!
OK, I’m done.
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
President or no President, is it appropriate for Barrack Obama to tell us not to shoot for the stars?
